Remember this quilt? Started it last fall. No diamonds on here.

This morning while I was looking through my books I suddenly thought about my big star quilt. I had put it away because it didn't fit at all. I did a lot of rearanging a couple of weeks ago and took the diamonds at the top off. So now it made me think again what shall I do. Leave the diamonds off or try again. I don't want to throw it away  but I still need to think :))))). Decisions.......

My new quiltbooks.

For my birthday, almost two weeks ago I got these 4 books from my family. I love quiltbooks and I have many but every time I see new interesting books I want to have them. I got three books from for me a new designer- quilter Edyta Sitar. She makes the most beautiful quilts and is very famous with her  " Laundry Basket Quilts" fabric and patterns. There are so many quilts in these books that I want to make....... oh my.
The fourth book is from one of my most favorite designers Jinny Beyer. She makes the most beautiful colored fabrics .

So now I am  "wasting"my time trying to decide what I am going to do now. It takes a lot of time. LOL. And I still have a few quilts to finish. Thank goodness I have plenty of time.....
I also got this lovely pattern from Edyta Sitar for "Laundry Basket Quilts" That will be waiting too.


Also I wanted to tell that I changed my mind about the date of the give away draw. That will be next Monday the 27th of April. The date was too far away. There are not many participating unlike my last give away so more chances for you. My husband will do the draw.

Stars.

While my three quilts are waiting for the binding I pulled out the stars  I made in between.   . I saw this quilt on the net some time ago and I liked it so much that I started making the stars soon after that. I finished 20 already and I am going to make 25 I think. Maybe more , I have to see and think how big I want it. I love the blues and gold yellows together.

 

 

Only the real yellow jumps out but the ones that look almost white are gold .

Now on to the sewingmachine.

GIVE AWAY. #2

Another prize for the winner to choose from.

There is a meter of this beautiful border fabric by Jinny Beyer. Sadly the color is not what shows on the photo. It is more turkois-green as you maybe can see on my almost finished quilt. I put it on the couch and made a photo couple of days ago. Not looking real good.LOL
 What you can do with the fabric? I did print out a page from Jinny Beyers site, how to make a placemat . Go to her site Jinnybeyer.com and have a look what she does with her borderfabrics on little videofilms. Wonderful ideas and real easy.

I have been busy quilting my third quilt yesterday so now I can put the binding on and finish all three of them. A great feeling.

I was looking through my crossstitch patterns this afternoon and I have at least 50 to choose from and all beautiful and from the best American designers. I am not sure if anybody is interested, if so I can pick some out and make a photo.

Sorry about the color of the fabric on this photo. The fabric is real  bright Christmas green and by 3 sisters for  Moda. I wil try to get it  better in other light.

GIVE AWAY .

 I quilted the border of this sampler so it is almost finished now. Just the binding to be done but I couldn't wait to show it already. I am really happy with it.

It is a bad photo but it was the best I could do . My husband had to keep it up for me and we had a lot of sun in the livingroom.
Once it is hanging in the hallway , I hoop very soon, I will make a better photo. It does look messy but that is because it is handheld and my husband didn't stretch his arms, LOL

Give away.

Exactly two years ago I started this blog and  I had a give away for my 75th birthday. I thougt I should have one again as I will be 77 soon.

I will post different choices for the give away as not everybody quilts, but maybe loves embroidery or likes something else.

More quilted.

Gisteren de tweede top gequilt. Ik heb beslist de smaak te pakken, zo leuk. Vandaag ga ik mijn grote les sampler verder quilten. Het meeste had ik al met de hand gedaan maar nu ga ik de border met de machine doen. Dat is het plan tenminste en dan kan ik hem ook verder afmaken. En dan de handgemaakte quilt doorquilten. Zo ben ik nog wel even bezig maar er begint schot in te komen. hihi. Als het quilten gedaan is kan het quiltvoetje er weer af en het speciale garen en kan ik de rest af gaan maken.
Hieronder de Japanse Geisha die ik gisteren heb door gequilt. De binding moet er nog omheen maar dat komt dus nog. Het ziet er niet zo goed uit op de foto en hij lijkt klein maar dat is hij niet.

 

Zo gauw deze paar quilts klaar zijn ga ik weer eens aan een give away denken.

Lijkt me leuk.

Finished, klaar.

Hier is eindelijk mijn eerste quiltwerkje. De top had ik al lang klaar maar ik kwam maar niet toe aan quilten. Dat wou ik op de machine doen. Ik moest echt moed verzamelen maar nou ben ik  over de drempel. Ik was wel speciaal begonnen op een top waar het niet zou opvallen als het niet helemaal goed ging maar het ging steeds beter gelukkig. Nou ga ik het beslist meer doen.
Hier het resultaat.

 

Het is niet erg goed te zien maar ik heb het doorstikken met  heel licht  garen gedaan.

Finally, eindelijk.

Gisteren ben ik in de winkel van Petra Prins in Zutphen geweest. Wat schitterend en wat een luilekkerland. Daar hangen zulke prachtige quilts en zooo groot allemaal. Je kijkt je ogen uit. Ik ben wel een beetje los gegaan wat lapjes betreft :))). Het is zoooo moeilijk kiezen en ik wil alles wel maken hihi. Maar ik heb ook Hobbs gekocht, lekker groot stuk dus ik kan weer even vooruit.
Ik heb een paar foto's gemaakt, mocht van de verkoopster, en hier dus een heel kleine impressie.

Deze log cabin was mijn favoriet, zo mooi. Hij komt niet tot zijn recht

op de foto jammer genoeg.

De huisjesquilt is echt enorm groot en daar was ik ook weg van.

Zoals je ziet er hangt van alles voor en alles is mooi. Je kan hier uren doorbrengen en je ziet steeds weer wat anders .

                                                                  Deze is ook zo prachtig en zo groot.
                                                            Het is een hele bekende en nou ben ik toch even de
                                                             naam vergeten. Hij is van Di Ford maar niet uit
                                                                haar bekende boek.
