Stofjes.Fabrics.

Zols ik zei, ik heb heel wat stofjes gekocht, veel ook on line . Ik heb er een paar foto'tjes van gemaakt.

 

In de grote mand zitten voornamelijk grote lappen.Halve en hele meters. Ik zal wel geregeld wat laten zien.

En wat ik er van ga maken? Nog geen idee. Voorlopig vind ik het zo mooi om naar te kijken.

Provence.

Yes I know, it has been some time since I was here but I haven´t been blogging as much as I did lately. But autumn is here and I am definitely going to finish a few things , at least that is the plan.
I did buy quite a lot of new fabric that I will show here of course.

But first I want to tell you about this new shop I found. It is called `Provence`and it is in a little town called Schoonhoven, not so far from here.

 

 She , the owner, sells mostly French stuff and the most beautiful fabric from the Provence. I could have stayed there for hours , there was so much to see . The only thing is ,you can´t buy it all and it is so difficult to decide, LOL. But I bought something and I made photo´s .

I love the different colors and I think I know what I am going to make of it.

I bought lots more fabric, mostly moda, but that I will show next time.



I am planning a give away , something I bought in  this beautiful shop. Must think how I am going to do it. Of course you have to be a follower or become one. More in my next post.

It's been a long time.

Yes it's been a long time since I was here.
I was busy with my lessons and other stuff but there was nothing much to tell and show.
But today I can show you a finished quilt. I started it last year but with so many other things to do it was put down for a while. So here it is. I am happy with it. The size is 48 " square.

 

The sampler I made for my lessons is almost finished. At least the top. I am busy with the corners and with the lovely pattern that has to be even on all four sides it is not really easy and a lot of work. I am new at making these corners but I am sure for people who quilt a lot it is easy as can be. :))) I hope to get there some day.

 

It is not a good photo at all as it was lying there on the table but you can see how it is going to be.

It is going to be the biggest quilt I made so far.

I have a few more quilts I have to finish so I hope to be back sooner this time.

Been busy.

Yes I have been busy these last few weeks.

Making lots of blocks for my sampler lessons which I love.We are nearing the end . We have two more lessons on which we are going to do the sashings and get it ready to finish at home. I still have to finish and make  a couple of blocks before our next lesson. Will do that in the weekend.

Then for our quiltbee we had a workshop applique. It was really fun and I  have here  a photo of the little block  we had to make.
And one photo of some of the group working hard and us all  having lunch. It was a great day on which I learned a lot.

Quilting lessons.

Last time I was here I told you I was going to take quilting lessons again. I did and I love it. There is so much to learn and I think that after all these lessons I will be a lot better quilter. We have a lot of homework so I am real busy but I like that. I took a photo of the blocks I did make these  three weeks. I still have one to make before next Saturday but I have to take my time with that one as it is not an easy one. I need to use the borderfabric in it.

 

These are the first 8 of the 24 we are going to make. So there is still lots to learn.

New year, new plans.

2014 is almost a month old and I haven't been here yet. Doesn't time fly.

December was a very busy month, probably in most peoples lifes. So in January I think  most of us are happy that everything is back to "normal" again.

I didn't sit still so let me tell you what I have been doing.

First I went to a workshop free motion  machine quilting. I am really happy I did learn that but it is not easy. I am practising every day to get nice flowing lines and hopefully I will get it right one day.:)

Next Saturday  I am going to a new patchwork course . I am really looking forward to it, bought some beautiful fabric. We are going to make a sampler and I intend to make photo's and show them here.

Isn't this nice. I especially love that border fabric.

 It is from Jinny Beyer. All the fabric does go so nice together.

Kerstmis, Christmas.

Sjonge, wat is het lang geleden dat ik hier was. Ja, wat is er allemaal gebeurd?
We waren met vakantie naar Florida, heerlijk was dat. En wat nog meer, geen idee. Dingen in de familie die veel aandacht en energie kostten. Och ja, zo gaat dat. En vervelende dingen vergeet ik het liefst maar meteen. En nu alweer een poosje druk met voorbereidingen voor de Kerst. Twee dagen kinderen en kleinkinderen hier eten. Heerlijk!

En nu heb ik bijna 5 dagen geen internet gehad. Er was geen signaal. Tjee, dat valt tegen. Niet mailen, niet bloggen, wat een ellende. Het is afzien, haha .

Ik heb wel gequilt en het een en ander afgemaakt. De quilt van de vorige post is af en hangt in de gang. Dan heb ik nog een andere quilt afgemaakt, hiervan een foto en ik heb een Kerstster gemaakt. Hij had eigenlijk gequilt moeten worden maar dat moet ik eerst nog leren. Over een paar weken ga ik naar een workshop machinaal quilten . Spannend.
